I founded Scenework in 2001 with my husband Charlton McMillan. We are a Los Angeles production company with a portfolio of documentary films.
Charlton and I have been working together for 30 years, since our early days at Dave Bell Associates where we met in the company coffee room. I was a fledgling producer with a desk just outside the edit bay where Charlton worked his editor magic.
In 1987 I got an opportunity to produce and direct a series of documentaries for Lifetime, and promptly hired Charlton to edit and to film part of the series. The Signature Series of films, which consisted of: Dying For Love, Child Abuse: Innocence on Trial, Once Upon Her Time, Gangs: Not My Kid and Post Partum: Beyond the Blues, was critically acclaimed and garnered numerous awards.
Charlton and I got married in 1991 and have continued to work together on HBO productions including Living Dolls: The Making of a Child Beauty Queen, which received 5 Primetime Emmy nominations, with Charlton winning for Picture Editing.
In 2006 our HBO film All Aboard! Rosie's Family Cruise premiered at Sundance under the Sceneworks banner head.
For the past 7 years Sceneworks served as the production partner of Mackerel Sky Films.
We are the proud parents of a son, Sean, and daughter, Ella.
